After premiering at the Woodstock Film Festival and screening at the Austin Film Festival, Beyond the Night is headed for worldwide distribution in January!

VARIETY -Breaking Glass Pictures has acquired worldwide rights to the supernatural mystery-thriller “Beyond the Night,” starring Zane Holtz.

The movie marks writer/director Jason Noto’s directorial debut. Breaking Glass acquired rights to the pic in a deal negotiated between Breaking Glass CEO Rich Wolff and producer Robin Garvick on behalf of NewAley Pictures, Summerhawk Films, and Reckless Productions.

The movie will open theatrically in Los Angeles in early January, followed by a DVD and VOD release in the first quarter of 2019. “Beyond the Night” centers on the revelation of damning information about a local gangster’s missing daughter, causing a war of attrition that wreaks havoc on a forgotten coal-mining town.

Lionsgate has bought the action-thriller, Hunter Killer, and sets it for a October 26 release date! The film stars Gerard Butler, Gary Oldman, Michael Nyqvist, and Common. Zane also stars in the film as Martinelli, a courageous, skilled member of the elite unit that is part of 21st century American military power.

Lionsgate has bought the action-thriller “Hunter Killer,” starring Gerard Butler, Gary Oldman, Michael Nyqvist, and Common, and given it an Oct. 26 release date.

The film is directed by Donovan Marsh from a script by Arne Schmidt and Jamie Moss from the 2012 novel “Firing Point,” by Don Keith and George Wallace. The story is about an untested American submarine captain who teams with Navy SEALs to rescue the Russian president, who has been kidnapped by a rogue general.

The film has had a quirky journey to the big screen.”Hunter Killer,” produced by Neal Moritz, was originally developed at Relativity Media in 2015 with CEO Ryan Kavanaugh on board to produce — before Relativity filed for bankruptcy protection.

After some unconfirmed news on whether the pilot would be moving forward, it’s officially confirmed that the CW will not proceed with Searchers. Really unfortunate news as the pilot sounded really great, but I’m hoping the pilot they shot would be released.

After several days of deliberations, the CW has opted not to proceed with pilots Insatiable and Searchers. Insatiable is being shopped elsewhere, and I hear there is interest.

Insatiable had strong internal support, though it was different than anything else on the CW. Meanwhile, Searchers had a bumpy ride and required re-shoots, but the final cut came in OK, and the project had great pedigree coming from The 100 creator Jason Rothenberg and the network’s top producer Greg Berlanti.

Great, exciting news, guys! Zane is set as the male lead in the CW drama pilot, Searchers. You can check out the synopsis below. It sounds promising, and hope it gets picked up to series!

Written by Jason Rothenberg, Searchers is about a group of unlikely heroes who find themselves on the journey of a lifetime. Ten years after the death of their parents, Cooper (Holtz) and his free-spirited sister Fable are forced to team up when they learn that their mother’s terrifying and bizarre stories might be a road map to discovering the great legends, myths and unexplainable mysteries of the world. Holtz’s Cooper is a brilliant tech innovator and former soldier who has accepted his parents’ deaths. But all that changes when Fable drags him on a dangerous mission to learn what truly happened to them 10 years ago.

Zane Holtz and Tammy Blanchard are starring in The Awakening, a supernatural thriller that just wrapped shooting in Sullivan County, N.Y.

Adrian Grenier’s Reckless Productions, in association with NewAley Pictures, is behind the movie, which was written and directed by Jason Noto, making his feature directorial debut.

Holtz is starring as a soldier who returns from active duty in Syria after his wife is killed in a car crash. He is reunited with his 5-year-old son, who survived the crash but is left with post-traumatic stress disorder. The child begins to display supernatural knowledge of a young woman’s disappearance that creates tension between the father and a small-town local gangster.

Chance Kelly and Azhy Robertson also topline the thriller.

Reckless’ Robin Garvick, along with Erik Weigel and Michael Goodin, produced the movie. Grenier executive produced along with Becky Newhall.

Let’s keep our fingers crossed we still get a fourth season!

El Rey Network has released the cast of From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series ahead of tomorrow’s (Nov. 5) Season 3 finale. I hear the options on the actors were up before the network was ready to make a decision on the future of the series, a reimagining of Robert Rodriguez’s 1996 movie for Miramax. With Rodriguez, the driving creative force behind the series, busy directing feature Alita: Battle Angel for Fox, I hear El Rey, which Rodriguez launched with Univision in 2013, may not make a final call on the show’s future until early 2017.

I hear that El Rey is still in discussions with the series’ lead producer Miramax about a potential new From Dusk Till Dawn installment. I hear it could take a different form, like a limited series or miniseries, which would explain the decision to let the actors’ options lapse. (I hear the idea is, if a new installment of the series goes forward, to do it with the same actors.)
