Zane Holtz and Tammy Blanchard are starring in The Awakening, a supernatural thriller that just wrapped shooting in Sullivan County, N.Y.

Adrian Grenier’s Reckless Productions, in association with NewAley Pictures, is behind the movie, which was written and directed by Jason Noto, making his feature directorial debut.

Holtz is starring as a soldier who returns from active duty in Syria after his wife is killed in a car crash. He is reunited with his 5-year-old son, who survived the crash but is left with post-traumatic stress disorder. The child begins to display supernatural knowledge of a young woman’s disappearance that creates tension between the father and a small-town local gangster.

Chance Kelly and Azhy Robertson also topline the thriller.

Reckless’ Robin Garvick, along with Erik Weigel and Michael Goodin, produced the movie. Grenier executive produced along with Becky Newhall.

Zane had a small appearance as the character, Barfbag, in the 2003 film, Holes, which also starred Shia LaBeouf and Sigourney Weaver. I have added high-resolution screencaps into the gallery, and I shared a clip over on Twitter.

I have updated the gallery with 2 high-quality promotional photos from Girl in the Box, which aired last night on Lifetime. Please don’t repost these elsewhere without linking back to the site as credit.

Check out the trailer for Girl in the Box, starring Zelda Williams, Zane Holtz and Cameron Hooker. The film will premiere on September 10, 8pm ET on Lifetime.

Millennium Films’ submarine action-thriller has added another member to its crew, drafting Zane Holtz for a key role in the story about an untested sub captain teamed with an elite military unit to rescue the Russian president from an ongoing military coup. Joining Gerard Butler, Gary Oldman, Billy Bob Thornton, Common, and Taylor John Smith, Holtz is playing “Martinelli,” a courageous, skilled member of the elite unit that is part of 21st century American military power. Donovan Marsh is directing the Original Film production from a script by Peter Craig.
